My 140 was approved in 10 days from TSC and my attorney sent my 485 to TSC (they send the applications to the same ctr where your 140 got approved),my 485 reached on July 2 nd..no receipt yet ,no check cashed yet..
may be we should just wait for another 10 working days.They are still working on June cases(TSC)

My husband's EAD was approved last week. I filed both the EADs (for me and him) together in July (Receipt Date: July 30th). My application has no LUD so far. His EAD was approved last week. This is just weird. When both the applications were filed together why look at one and not look at the other?

Recieved an email just now. Status was updated to card production ordered.

As others have suggested, if possible your spouse should pursue her own path to GC through H1B employer as a realistic option. IV members would help in the job search.

If a person isn't contributing money, isn't participating in state chapters, isn't going to any rally and his/her sole contribution is 'brilliant ideas' that get posted on the forums... only use he/she can be put to is inter-breeding donkeys and horses, like you said!
However, unfortunately, IV is not a farm.
A rich man had a bunch of horses and donkeys. He used some to carry the load and some he tried to breed for participating in races. He was trying something but not very effeciently.

Hi,
All the posts above are good coping measures, and some are used to actually deal with depressive symptoms. However they have missed the MOST important one! You used the term clinical depression. Please if you truly feel that way seek help, and seek it now, talk to your doctor or to a councilor. Though I won't go into details, I am speaking from personal experience. Sometimes things build up so much that we slip into such a state where we go beyond sadness and frustration and move to true depression.
From a site on depression: Depression is a disorder that affects your thoughts, moods, feelings, behavior and even your physical health. People used to think it was "all in your head" and that if you really tried, you could "snap out of it" or just "get over it." But doctors now know that depression is not a weakness, and it's not something you can treat on your own. Depression is a medical disorder with a biological and chemical basis.
Sometimes a stressful life event triggers depression. Other times depression seems to occur spontaneously with no identifiable specific cause. Depression is much more than grieving or a bout of the blues.
Depression, true clinical depression, is nothing you can cure with a trip to somewhere else, or having people point out to you how much better you are off than this person or that one. I am linking one of many sites that are out there, please read it and if you really do have the symptoms do what it suggests. I pledged 100 $ today for Aman's expenses because I felt really bad abt that. I donated around 300$ till date including 20$ recurring contribution.
I filed my 485 long time ago. But when people who are really seeing the fruits of IV (July VB reversal) are higly reluctant to donate even a few bucks, while they are spending thousand's of dollars for their 485 stuff, I am kinda confused.
Are people really that selfish not to donate a few bucks(may be 5$per month) to an organization which is making them file 485 and reversed all this fiasco.

It is possible that check depositing staff also has there own back log. Once, application and checks are accepted, EAD can be issued, but check depositing staff may be slow in their work.
I hope that is the case. I just checked my account and still the checks have not been cashed..... I will keep you posted if there is any change

Lot of discussion on self employment w.r to AC21. Here is my thought. To use AC21 w.r to self employment one need not open a company. One can even do simple business model (sole proprietorship) in line with the definition of self employment as per IRS. IRS or Labor department is the one defines the �self-employment� not USCIS. Having said that, one should have a legitimate business and paper work and contract to prove.
Let�s see a simple example. A restaurant applied an I-140 for a cook. This cook wants to use AC21. He need not open a new restaurant and employs himself as a cook. A cook may not afford to open a business. He may not even require registering a business. All he needs is obey the sole proprietorship /independent contractor definition as per IRS and pay all the taxes and do the business as per rule. In this business model, if he lined up few long term contract with two or three big hotels to provide cooking service, or even provide cooked food from his home, and making similar income as per I-140, that will be enough to claim AC21. All he needs is legitimate self employment as per IRS rule, and good paperwork to claim that, in case of RFE.
