I am not going to stoop to your level, Bkam, but the next time you post a comment about sombreros etc you are looking at a ban. It is up to you what you choose to do.
Well, my dear, since you are the "boss", you can "ban" me now. Do not wait because it is unlikely I will change my way of thinking. Even, I am going to facilitate you, I will "ban" me myself.

Yes, but the immigration hearings already happened. People already have a clear indication on what the public wants. Lou Dobbs is still out there reminding them. Honestly, I wish us good luck, but I am not sure.
Seems like you are indicating that public clearly against CIR: on what basis you are saying that. There was no referendum and even an election after the CIR debate. Most of the opinion polls are evenly split: if I remember correctly a popular opinion poll said that most Americans want to solve the immigration issue and they also are fine with putting illegal immigrants on path to citizenship. They also want to have more border security provisions most of these aspects are covered in CIR. Of course illegal immigration issue is controversial and CIR may never succeed in its current form irrespective of who is in control of congress. A democrat leading congress may not venture into too controversial aspects of immigration fearing a backlash during presidential elections. The backlash they fear is energizing the extreme right wing. A republican leading congress anyway wont pass CIR bill.

Thats why our best bet is SKILL bill this is relatively non-controversial, good for American industry, and supported by different groups. Of course it is very difficult.
Not sure if such an important bill will be taken up during lame-duck session. In fact the outgoing house members may actually push for some aggressive border security measures to make the process even longer than it is now. So yes.I too wish us good luck we do need it a lot.

    Just got back from Canada.
All went smooth. Upon arrival at Toronto (Pearson) Airport, the Landing procedure was very smooth and pleasant. No questions asked about our business in the US at all and about how long we were going to be in Canada. We dealt with 4 different Canadian officials at various points in the landing process and all were very pleasant and easy going.

We stayed in Canada for a week. Liked it. Did a lot of sightseeing and research all over Ontario. We will be going back in December to British Columbia to check that side of the country out and decide where we would live if we move to Canada.

This afternoon (07/10) we flew back to the US. Once again we got no questions about our business in Canada. The US IO did ask how long we were there for.
The AP processing took about 45 minutes and after that we hopped on the puddle-jumper and landed in Baltimore. The US IOs were actually the nicest i have seen (had not left the country since 2000) and i noticed that all the IOs were minorities (middle-eastern, Indian, pacific rim origins).

Overall good trip + we have Canada in our back pocket in case there is no progress with our US GC in the next 12 months. I recommend others to do the same, our whole process took less than 2 years. Plus we did it on our own without any attorney. It is quite straightforward.

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...

A: I suggest you to have a trip in India and visit some places like Dharavi,
Mumbai. If you do not want to go to India, Just take a trip to Brooklyn, NY
You will see lots of souls in a such condition, you will start feeling better.
I would not say this is nice way to feel good but that is the qucikest thing
I can think of. What I mean to say is do not feel hopeless as you are in a
way better condition than millions. And those millions have not lost hope
and faith. Yes, you do not have GC so I also do not have GC. I do not
have assets like what Bill Gates or Anil Ambani has. So now I get a good
reason to depress and feel hopeless. Should I start feeling depressed?
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.

SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.

Ans: World history is full of events when people have done and made success
against all odds. Have confidence and faith in yourself. Stand up to
challenge the problems and entities who impose the problem on you.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.

Question: Have you done anything good for India or planning to do any good
for USA? Or it is always about yourself?
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go.

Q: As per your claim, India has not done good to you with comparison to USA.
Are you planning to go back to India after packing up? Just curious.

Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

See the answers and hope my answers do not depress you.

CA and NY were the two states which were always backlogged during those bad old days of labor processing. Now, CA application goes to TSC and NY goes to NSC and that might keep both the centers balanced going forward.

But I think rather than dividing based on the states, they should rather do a load balancing based on the request coming..just like our network works :)
Load balancing can be simply based on the round robin fashion..one goes to TSC other goes to NSC and so on.
How difficult is to build that kind of system and to keep it balanced and fair for all.

...and probably add more servers (err... service centers) to serve the demand ;)

..f(p)light still seems to be wheeling on the runway as compared to NSC's soaring high approvals. Any thoughts?

May be just may be because TSC approved a lot of cases for the current PD 2 years ago and have less cases than NSC.

Here is my story...When I came here 12 years back, for initial 3 years I did not applied for GC. Then I started my GC with a employer, company lawyer kept on saying that he filed my GC for one & half year but he did not...One fine morning, I realized that my lawyer was seating on my papers as per instructions from HR..lost around 2 years there. After talking to HR, lawyer filed LC and LC was approved thereafter two & half years..Unfortunatley, at the time of filing I-140, company declared "Bankruptcy" and once agian I was on the road. Joined new employer. New employer said I have to complete one year to file GC. After one year filed LC, my I-140 approved and last FOUR years on EAD. This roller coster is because of...I am from "Retrogressed" conuthry and PD is getting retrogressing now & then...

Still feels that GC is just a part of journey of my life...

Ash0210, how come you have been here for 12 years without GC?? Can you tell me?
