And worst is the lottery...
And I know a guy (a restaurant waiter from Nepal) got his GC in frikkin 14 months. And this was 5 years ago when I had just applied and now even today mine is still pending and that Nepali waiter who could not speak 4 words in English is now a Citizen and whenever I go to this restaurant for a buffet he keeps laughing at me and he is still a waiter in the same restaurant. I know him for 6 years. I get enraged at this countrys immigration policy. And I have met about 5 cabbies (Somalia, Pakistan, Sudan) etc etc who came here by winning visa lottery. And they are all citizens or GC holders. This is a mockery. This country has finally started to SUCK big time.

Did anyone do their landing recently, after filing their 485?
Just want to see what kind of question they were askied coming back to USA.
I am planning to do landing sometime in March. Have a valid H-1B stamp and want to do my landing before my H-1B stamp expires.
Can anyone let me know what should i be expecting?

The ones who are not staying in line and cutting ahead are the EB3 folks who are porting to EB2 ! Their line is the EB3 line. But they want to cut into the EB2 line whenever convenient. Atleast thats how most EB2 (and EB3) folks perceive the PD porting process.

I dont believe in flower/food/sos campaigns to resolve this problem...just because it worked once before doesnt mean it is going to work again..have we pursued a class action lawsuit against Department of State/Labor/USCIS for unlawful discrimination based on the country of birth in Employment Based Visas. Any idea if IV core ever took up this path? Can we attempt to do this? What are the costs involved and can we get some good lawyer representation to this goal?

I am happy to see some beginings here.. although we have had many many threads before for this kind of initiative but I see some difference here... Like some others said we need to draft an action plan from A to Z here (understood that it may not be exactly what we would be following over time but), we need some roadmap to follow to reach our target.
I like the idea of collecting info about who is willing to contribute and I am all for it.
btw, option 1 is not an option for me.

I never had a soft LUD on my 485 because of EAD renewal.... But one time I saw it, but my lawyers filed AC21 around the same time.... So I would think it was because of AC21.... So I was always under the impression that EAD renewal has no LUD's on 485, based on my experience
My wife got a soft LUD on 8/21. She has PD of Dec 2005 EB2 (I). I wa shappy to see some activity but then i saw the following thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/1599851-ead-renewal-but-i-485-update.html#post1981520) . It looks like some got the soft LUD on their 485 but their EAD was in process and same is the case wiht my wife. She applied for EAD renewal last month.

I think it's tough for anyone to predict exact EB3 -> EB2 porting for this year at this point in time....It's definitely going to increase every year...unless some rule changes...It was pretty clear even before this lawyer posted that EB2 will have no or very slow movement without any spillover...

Yes, but the immigration hearings already happened. People already have a clear indication on what the public wants. Lou Dobbs is still out there reminding them. Honestly, I wish us good luck, but I am not sure.
Ombudsman, you forgot one important point however.
If the Dems do win the house, the speaker will be a Dem. and she will set the agenda to be discussed and voted upon. Also the ranking members on the various comittees will also be Dems. Therefore they will make the decisions such as, when and how to discuss these measures in committee, when and with whom to hold congressional hearings(expert testimony), when to go to conference and which representatives to to go to conference, and so on, these things influence the legislative process as much as votes do.
The bottomline is House Republicans had a fair shot at this and decided against any changes, I can't see how them returning is going to solve a thing. Immigration is one of the few issues that the Upper House and the Pres. can agree with a democratic congress on. Issues such as Soc. Security, healthcare etc will certainly end up in gridlock as the republican strategist Ed Rollins points out.

I took an infopass appointment today. The IO sent an e-mail to NSC after taking details like DOB, address etc. for me and my wife.
btw, FP for us has been scheduled. Looks like they have some kind of a queue for that but a notice has not been sent out.
So that was it. Am going to wait it out patiently.

Are you telling that FP was already sceduled even before you went for Infopass?
Could you tell when case was transferred to NSC and when NSC received it? What is the FP data?

Exactly... there is no such thing as LOW HANGING BALLS.... they shuld be fair to everyone... this is just a case of discrimination... first make all these useless categoreis... I have done the landing and came back to US on Automatic Visa Revalidation as my 797 is valid. No problem at all while entering in Canada. The officer just looked at the permnant resident confirmation paper, ask how much funds I am carrying. I told him I have less than a $1000 but I will be transfering funds if needed. I was not asked to show the proof. Next I went to canadian customs and gave them the goods to follow list. The officer processed that and welcomed me to Canada. The whole process took like 15-20 min. While coming back to US the officer did ask me why I was travelling and what I do in US and I told him I came here to become permanant resident and I am on H1B in US. They asked if I applied for LPR in US and I said yes and it is pending. The CBP officer was aggressive, asked me lots of other question but didn't create any issues while issuing the new I-94. So overall, things went fine.

My status on CRIS has changed. No emails. Its says my approval has been sent. But nothing about the card. I spoke to the CS and they said my biometrics have to be uploaded. In the mean time can I get my passport stamped?.
